Edinburgh Fringe 2018

Delighted to be working with a wide range of top quality international music, theatre and dance companies and individual performers at Edinburgh Fringe 2018, with several UK premieres, and a strong emphasis on women – writer, director, choreographer, performers and themes. They’re also a diverse selection, from Ireland, USA, India and Scotland.

Fishamble – Maz & Bricks
1-26 Aug
Award winning (numerous Fringe 1sts, Olivier award, Stage award) Irish theatre company Fishamble, with UK premiere of Maz & Bricks, a 2 hander about the issues around ireland’s 8th Amendment. Sharp, funny and topical.
Written and performed by Eva O’Connor (award winning writer/performer in her own right)
It tells the story of two young people who meet over the course of a day in Dublin. Maz is an angry young woman planning to attend a political demonstration, while Bricks is planning to take his young daughter to the zoo. But nothing goes according to plan. Fishamble premiered the play in 2017 to great critical acclaim:

Internationally acclaimed dance company from West Bengal. Martial arts, acrobatics, folk dance, drama, exhilarating choreography, colourful costumes, atmospheric lighting in a double bill of exciting and elegant Indian dance, combining traditional folk dance, classical dance with a contemporary interpretation.

Members of all women percussion/vocal group, LA based Adaawe, working with producers WeR Global, on a multicultural, multimedia show about inspiring women. Directed by Stephanie Vlahos.
A high-octane hour of drumming, singing, storytelling and dance, bouncing hip multiculturalism off the performers’ own ethnic roots from Africa to the Middle East to Morocco to Panama to the USA. Inspired by, and dedicated to, the women of Ghana, West Africa, who gather under the full moon to tell stories of sorrow and joy. We Are shares stories of women of many cultures who have inspired, changed, and healed our world. Skin on skin. Wood on wood. Voices on air. The first heartbeat. Put your ear to the earth and listen!

Returning to Edinburgh Fringe with 2 performances of each of her 5 star, award winning shows Paris and Piaf. Exuberant fusion of funky mbalax/ Afrobeat rhythms with undercurrents of ska, rock, Senegalese soul; original songs with impassioned vocals, infectious guitar licks and irresistible dance grooves. Led by charismatic Senegalese singer Samba Sene, Diwan is a diverse international collection of musicians who share a global outlook and love of West African beats. Original songs with influences including Samba’s former mentor Baaba Maal, Youssou N’Dour, Bob Marley and Aswad. Get your Senegalese groove on!
