Camille
In a setting
that could be mistaken for an early Victorian burlesque house, the strikingly gothic Camille O’Sullivan takes to the
stage as our madam for the evening. From the moment the first notes glide from
her devilishly red lips it is clear that we are in the most exquisite company. Her voice is a cavern of emotions, conveying solitude, suffering,
defiance and anger with startling intensity. More impressive than this,
however, is her ability to infect songs by artists such as Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Jacques Brel
with her ravenous personality. Smoulderingly
vamp-like, Camille has a relentless sexual charisma that dominates her
audience with whip-like ferocity, making for a wonderfully alluring and engrossing performance.
